Petros has always had trouble with the concept of "last night." I figured out today that it is because he focuses on the concept of "last" as opposed to "first."
Me: Get your swimsuit on Pet.
Petros: Can I just wear these mom (those that he has on)? I just wore them this night.
Me: You mean last night?
Petros: No, I mean the first night before this day. This night.
Me: That's called last night. Right?
Petros: I guess so. But when we talk and read in bed, then will it be "last night?"
Me: That's what we will do tonight. Tomorrow we will call it "last night." Last night is what we call a night that just happened. Tonight is what we call the night that is coming on.
Petros: But then, when it's all the same day, it'll be the same nights again.
Me: (silence - I have no idea what that means, I assume he feels the same way about my explanation).
