Petros and I were talking about that he should invite Carter for sleepover. I said "but then again, your room is getting too small for the two of you." He told me they would for sure sleep out in the living room on the carpet. "You don't notice how wild boys are when they sleep," he said. He went on to explain how once he was sleeping and he "literally went into a v-shape." He made the shape with his hands. It did look a lot like a literal V. I'm sure he looked like a V too, that one time.

A jig and a reel. Not fishing terms here.
The only thing I like about facebook is kid quotes. That's it. But I really love those so much. Please put more. Selah is now 12 but she still gets me laughing sometimes with her cleverness.
Me: (commenting on the bagpipes in the music that was on) I love Scottish music.
Selah: Yeah, it makes me want to do a jig.
Me (thinking): {She doesn't know that a jig is Iri...}
Selah: I mean a reel!
Me: ?!
Later I looked and the Irish and the Scottish both have forms of jig and reel. Still, she's quick. Now, let's see if she can actually do a reel.

Distracted
Pet's class has had a unit on economics. He comes home talking about consumers and producers. It's cute. Anyways, I was trying to read some fairy tale to Petros. He wasn't into it. I don't blame him. It wasn't the best story. "The Flying Trunk" by Hans Christian Andersen. Petros was worried about how the flippant son of the merchant could get away with throwing gold coins into the ocean and making paper airplanes out of dollar bills. I kept reading to the part where the man puts on a firework show for the Turks, as he is flying high in his trunk. At some point I asked Petros a question to see if he was paying attention (which he wasn't) and he responded after a minute...
"Sorry mom, I guess I was just distracted by income and economics."
